Nitrasol – Liquid Fertiliser

Choosing Nitrasol is more than just making a choice of fertiliser.

Nitrasol represents a change of farming system to better crop nutrition, greater efficiency, productivity and environmental sustainability.

The Nitrasol system considers the entire journey your fertiliser takes from factory-to-field by applying the principles of cleaner air, purer water, less waste and lower energy use to every production step.

By focusing on incremental improvements at each logistical stage, we have created a highly efficient, low-risk, and environmentally responsible Nitrasol system.

The first time our comprehensive range of liquid fertilisers meet the atmosphere is when they emerge from the sprayer nozzle.

Greater Productivity

The complete Nitrasol system has a third of the usual handling steps on farm and is best placed for single man operation with tanks located close the point of use and eliminating unncesessary storage and handling.

Modern sprayers allow you to work more reliably in all conditions at wider bout widths with fewer tramlines.  With complete precision we work with you to make your investment in GPS-powered machinery work harder with even application without wasting a drop.

Our liquid system provides the operational flexibility to apply fertiliser when the crop requires it in all wind conditions without being wasted in hedges or watercourses.

Replacing solid fertilisers means that the capital-intensive security, storage and double-handling requirements and regulations around the storage of ammonium nitrate are avoided.

Leading Sustainability

Our new terminals built to EUROCODES standards, the hardest test.  They  have been designed to eliminate unnecessary handling and logistical steps.

Fertilisers are pumped by ship directly into sealed tanks by dedicated pipelines. Each tank is bunded for total environmental containment and sealed vessels eliminate losses of ammonia for cleaner air. Leakage is prevented using dry fit connectors and compressed air purging.

Rainwater recovery minimises resource usage whilst the use of gravity discharge and oversized pipes reduce friction losses and energy consumption during the production process.

We have removed the use of open lagoons that risk rainwater dilution, contamination or ammonia volatilisation to the air in our system.

The need for single-use plastics is eliminated by our completely engineered factory-to-field system that removes spillage, leakage and contamination risks.

Class Leading Assurance

Every tonne despatched from our terminals has been triple filtered to ensure clarity and purity. Samples are taken from each load and full batch traceability is provided by industry-leading computer systems.   Risks of spillage and leaks are controlled by dry fit connectors and compressed air purging.

Computerised volumetric loading technology in our terminals ensures road tankers are loaded at maximum payloads to optimise freight logistics so you can get on when conditions allow.

Our terminals are independently inspected each year to attain FIAS certification. Our advisors are FACTS qualified. We are members of the Agricultural Industries Confederation, the membership body for responsible producers.

Lowest Emissions

The whole factory-to-field Nitrasol system helps farmers incorporate industry leading sustainability to their system. Our engineered system focuses on cleaner air, purer water, less waste and lower carbon. The result is the Lowest Total Environmental Impact of any nitrogen fertiliser typically used in the UK.

Nitrasol fertilisers have about a fifth lower emissions of ammonia and carbon and about half the logistical steps from one of the most impactful inputs in UK agriculture.

Using IPCC estimates of fertiliser production Greenhouse Gas emissions at the factory-gate, normalised for potency, we assess over 50 further data points for carbon consumption and ammonia emissions.

Taking the entire fertiliser production, distribution and application system from factory-to-field, we estimate that Nitrasol has about a fifth lower emissions and about half the logistical steps than other commonly used fertilisers in the UK.

Our Terminals

Our dedicated fertiliser terminals optimally located at two East Coast ports close to international supply routes to provide comprehensive national coverage from Scotland to the South Coast from two East Coast ports.

We have the storage capacity and distribution network to meet demand in the peak spring season.

Great Yarmouth Terminal

Completed in June 2019, this modern terminal features over 25,000 tonnes of fertiliser storage with direct connections to the quayside for fast and secure ship replenishment

Over ten loading points and tandem weighbridges ensure rapid turnaround of road tankers and we are optimally located to deliver to farms located in East Anglia and from the Humber to the South Coast.

Sunderland Terminal

Our Sunderland terminal was completed in February 2023 and features over thirty eight thousand tonnes of fertiliser storage.

Dedicated pipelines link the fully bunded and contained storage tanks to either a 200m nine-metre deep-water berth or a 150m six metre berth within the Hendon Dock

Sunderland is ideally situated on the motorway and trunk road network for rapid delivery to farms from the Humber to Grampian and across to the west coast.

The move to the more efficient, sustainable and productive Nitrasol liquid fertiliser system on your farm can be triggered by a number of events, perhaps the purchase or a new sprayer or the retirement of a key operator.  Whatever the reason, our local experts can support your system change to liquid.
