Protect nitrogen, cut spring losses
View ProductNitrasol, formulated with Thio-Sul®, builds a controlled-release sulphur source into every drop of liquid nitrogen, helping crops use more of what’s applied, from establishment through to harvest.
Your crops need more than nitrogen to perform. Without sufficient sulphur, plants can’t convert applied nitrogen into yield, meaning weaker protein formation, poorer nitrogen recovery and a lower return on every tonne applied.
Nitrasol, formulated with Thio-Sul (ammonium thiosulphate), keeps a reliable, controlled-release sulphur source alongside nitrogen in every application, so crops can use what’s applied when they actually need it.
As with all Nitrasol product development, getting nitrogen and sulphur working together, in the right form and at the right time, is central to everything we do. Sulphur plays a fundamental role in how a plant uses nitrogen. It’s essential for amino acid formation, protein synthesis and healthy crop development, and where it’s lacking, nitrogen uptake and conversion are impaired, whatever quantity of nitrogen is applied.
That’s the problem Thio-Sul is built to solve. By pairing every application with a reliable, controlled-release source of sulphur, Nitrasol ensures nitrogen has what it needs to actually be used by the crop, not just applied to the field. The result is a fertiliser that works harder from the moment it’s applied, supporting stronger, more even growth right through to harvest.
Thio-Sul stabilises nitrogen in the soil, reducing volatilisation and leaching losses so more of what's applied reaches the crop.
Nitrogen and sulphur are delivered together in a single, homogeneous solution, for accurate, even application without the risk of nutrient mismatch.
Fully dissolved and free from crystallisation, keeping tanks, lines and nozzles clear and application consistent.
A more concentrated formulation means lower application volumes and fewer transport and handling requirements.
Not all sulphur behaves the same way in the soil. Traditional ammonium sulphate sources are available immediately, which can be a disadvantage in high rainfall conditions where sulphur is prone to leaching before crops can use it.
Thio-Sul works differently. Part of the sulphur is immediately available as sulphate, while the rest converts gradually, aligning supply with crop demand through key growth stages. This is particularly valuable in crops like oilseed rape, where late-season nutrition drives yield formation.
UK growers deal with high rainfall, light to medium soils prone to leaching and narrow application windows. Thio-Sul’s controlled release and nitrogen-stabilising properties are built for exactly this.
| Ammonium Sulphate | Nitrasol with Thio-Sul | |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Immediately available | Immediate and slow-release, combined |
| Leaching risk | High in wet conditions | Reduced, sulphur held for longer |
| Crop alignment | Front-loaded, may run out late season | Matched to demand through key growth stages |
| Liquid stability | Prone to crystallisation | Manufactured as liquid sulphur, no blocked nozzles |
Nitrasol’s complete liquid fertiliser system is designed around operational efficiency.
Every load is monitored from production through to delivery.
Every load is sampled, with specific gravity and temperature recorded before dispatch.
Backed by UK terminal infrastructure and responsive delivery scheduling.
